Speedpaint study for speedpaintstudies.deviantart.c…
1h20min. No tracing, no color picking from original picture.

Surprisingly easier than manakin and I felt quite comfortable while painting it.
Decided to leave his mane (is that the word?) as it is cause rendering would take much more time than I had.
What I tried to focus and learn was to keep the proportions of his "face" cause I instinctively tend to draw faces bigger than they accualy are.
As always if you have any suggestions what and how to improve, please share it with me

Nicely done my friend! I don't know if it was easier than Manakin because I have not tried that one yet. For me however, I did begin this one and after about 45 minutes I gave it up. Shame shame on me! I love painting big cats but this photo just seemed a little too blown out and over exposed for my tastes. I may give it a few minutes more and enter my study eventually but I wouldn't feel comfortable with it in the long run unless I tone down some things.
Yes BTW it is called a mane And you named it well. The colors seem to balance out the white of the face and you kept it very painterly. I also like how you blurred out the gate, in the photo it is very distracting and takes away from the model.
Great study all around!
